Acceptable Use Policy
Last Updated: April 3, 2026
1. Introduction
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of all products and services provided by Ricord AI ("Ricord," "we," "us"). By accessing or using Ricord, you agree to comply with this policy. This AUP supplements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
2. General Prohibitions
You may not use Ricord to engage in, facilitate, or promote any of the following:
- Illegal content or activity — any use that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.
- Malware and exploits — distributing viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware, or any code designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to systems.
- Harassment and abuse — threatening, stalking, bullying, or intimidating any individual or group; distributing content that promotes discrimination or hatred.
- Spam and unsolicited communications — sending bulk unsolicited messages, phishing attempts, or deceptive communications through or facilitated by Ricord.
- Intellectual property infringement — uploading, storing, or distributing content that infringes on the copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, or other intellectual property rights of any third party.
3. Knowledge-Specific Prohibitions
Ricord provides AI-powered knowledge management capabilities. The following additional restrictions apply specifically to these features:
- Prohibited content storage — do not use Ricord to store illegal content, personally identifiable information (PII) without the explicit consent of the data subject, classified government information, or trade secrets you do not own or have authorization to process.
- Cross-tenant extraction — do not attempt to access, extract, infer, or reconstruct knowledge belonging to other Ricord tenants or users. Each tenant's knowledge base is isolated and must remain so.
- Unauthorized conversation processing — do not use auto-extraction features to process conversations, documents, or communications for which you do not have the rights or necessary consent.
- Knowledge base poisoning — do not deliberately inject false, misleading, or fabricated information into any knowledge base with the intent to corrupt outputs or deceive other users.
- AI safety circumvention — do not use Ricord to bypass, undermine, or circumvent AI safety measures, content filters, or guardrails implemented by Ricord or any connected AI system.
4. Rate Limits
To ensure fair access and platform stability, Ricord enforces the following rate limits per tier:
| Tier | Rate Limit |
|---|---|
| Free | 100 requests / minute |
| Pro | 600 requests / minute |
| Team | 1,200 requests / minute |
| Enterprise | Custom (contact sales) |
Exceeding these limits will result in HTTP 429 responses. Persistent or intentional abuse of rate limits may result in temporary suspension.
5. Fair Use
Ricord is designed for legitimate knowledge management, including storing, organizing, retrieving, and enhancing information through AI-powered extraction and recall. The service is not intended for bulk data processing, data warehousing, web scraping pipelines, or any use where Ricord serves primarily as a general-purpose data storage or compute platform rather than a knowledge management tool. We reserve the right to throttle or suspend accounts that engage in usage patterns inconsistent with legitimate knowledge management.
6. Security Research
We welcome responsible security research. If you discover a vulnerability in Ricord, please report it to security@ricord.ai. We ask that you:
- Make a good-faith effort to avoid disrupting service for other users.
- Do not access, modify, or delete data belonging to other users.
- Provide us with reasonable time to address the issue before public disclosure.
- Do not use automated scanning tools against production systems without prior written approval.
We will not pursue legal action against researchers who follow these guidelines in good faith.
7. Enforcement
Violations of this AUP are addressed through a graduated enforcement process:
- Warning — for first-time or minor violations, we will notify you of the issue and request corrective action.
- Suspension — for repeated violations or moderate severity issues, your account may be temporarily suspended while we investigate and you remediate the issue.
- Termination — for severe violations, repeated offenses after prior warnings, or any use that poses an imminent threat to our platform or other users, your account will be permanently terminated.
Ricord reserves the right to skip steps in this process for severe violations. In all cases, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you and provide an explanation.
8. Reporting Violations
If you believe a user is violating this AUP, or if you have encountered abusive content or behavior on Ricord, please report it to abuse@ricord.ai. Include as much detail as possible, including relevant URLs, timestamps, and a description of the violation. We review all reports and will respond within five business days.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on our website at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of Ricord after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
